On the "New New New Right."
The “new Right” is about Christian white male supremacy and victimhood. But this is not new. When JD Vance says he’s no longer ashamed of being white-I’m not sure when you’d ever had to be ashamed in the first place. Tucker Carlson wants a homeland for white people. They feel that they are the victims and that they’re being replaced hence terms like “reverse racism.” This is how they felt in the 20th century as well. Any progress made by people of color is seen as a threat to these people. Some white women (often suburban or rural) go along with this but are beginning to question this now because they realize that they too are on the chopping block. They fear “American culture” disappearing but American culture has always adopted the culture of others who migrated to this country. There is no threat of America becoming Mexico or instituting Sharia law. The majority of Americans believe in freedom even when this “new Right” seeks to control culture through state power. They’re also afraid that if white people–a classification that didn’t always include Germans, Italians, or Irish–eventually become a minority in the US they will be treated as harshly as they aim to treat minorities now. There is no evidence that this would ever occur.
